Vanderbilt Divinity School is an historic center of inclusion, which, along with resistance to oppression, living up to its moniker "School of the Prophets." Whether protesting the university expelling James Lawson for his nonviolence activities in the 1950s, or facing consequences for opposing South African apartheid in the 1970s, to becoming a home to the first and oldest Religion, Gender, and Sexuality program of its kind in the 1990s, VDS does not treat diversity as a new and flashy trend, but an outcome of its history and theological commitments, and just one part of the journey toward becoming a place where our values are lived out fully.

Join Admissions staff, faculty, and students to discuss the ways in which VDS has a deep historical commitment to inclusion that continues today, as a work in progress.

Registration is no longer available because the event has been cancelled.
